Submit a Mt. SAC Admission Application Summer Term

Complete a summer term application at www.mtsac.edu . Click on "Apply Now" and complete a summer term application. After submitting the application online, you will receive an email confirmation with your Mt. SAC Student ID number and Username which will help you complete step 2.

• Students interested in Promise+Plus must select a major of study. Certificates under 16 units and undecided major students are not eligible for CA Promise Programs.

Activate your Mt. SAC Student Portal Account

After you apply you will receive an email with instructions on how to claim and activate your online student portal account.

Student Account Claim

New students must click on “1st Time Users (Claim Account)” before they can enter a username and a password.

Enter in your Mt. SAC username that you received from Admissions & Records in the confirmation e-mail you were sent. Then click “submit.” 

You must answer these challenge questions exactly as you answered them on your application. If you didn't provide a social security number on your application you will enter all zeros (e.g. 0000) here. Once you have filled them all in, click “submit.”

This code will be your temporary password.  Write it down and then click “login.”

Login! Enter your username here. Use the Mt. SAC Account Claim code that you received on the previous page.  Then click “Sign in”. After you click “Sign in” you will have access to your Mt. SAC Student Portal.

  

Next: Change your password! Once you are in your Mt. SAC Student Portal, click on your name in the upper right corner and then select “Change Password”. Next, select and create new security questions and then select “Save Responses”. You will then be prompted to create a new password.

Apply for Financial Aid: 2022-23 FAFSA or CA Dream Act

Submit your financial aid application for the school year. Promise+Plus interested students MUST apply for financial aid to be considered to receive benefits. Students that apply but are not eligible for financial aid, may still qualify to receive Promise+Plus benefits.

Mt. SAC’s Federal School Code is 001245. If you are interested in receiving financial aid funding for the Summer 2022 intersession, you must also submit the application for the 2021 school year.

Complete the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) and Online New Student Orientation

It is necessary for students to complete the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) for accurate course placement. Have your high school transcripts ready to complete the AQ online.

The online orientation is required of all new students prior to registration of courses. The orientation assists students in learning valuable Mt. SAC information.

To complete both the AQ and Online Orientation, go to your portal account and click the “Student Success” tab at the top.

Participation in a summer program as the first college experience is mandatory. For information on how to participate in each program go to Summer Bridge and STEP. To apply to receive funding for the Summer term, submit a financial aid application for 2021-22.

Be sure your financial aid file is complete. Check the status of your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application regularly by going to, Financial Aid in your portal account. Some students are selected to submit additional documentation in order to complete their financial aid file.

Check your Mt. SAC student email regularly. All college communication including Promise+Plus information is sent through college email. Promise+Plus communication will increase over the Summer 2022 term.
